We are looking for a strategic and proactive SMM Lead / KOL Lead to join the Formula by Cointelegraph team — a Full-service PR & Marketing agency powered by the world’s leading crypto media.
In this role, you will drive social media and influencer marketing strategy for external clients in the digital assets space, building engaging narratives, growing visibility, and ensuring content and campaigns deliver results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead social media strategy and execution: Develop full-funnel SMM strategies tailored to Web3, crypto, and mining clients. Balance high-quality content with platform-specific performance formats. Oversee planning, production, and posting across major platforms.
- Analyze and scale what's working: Track social media trends across industries (crypto, AI, DeFi, mining, etc.) and extract actionable insights. Map content formats to audience behaviors. Provide structured analysis, not just inspiration.
- Build and manage creator and KOL programs: Own the development and execution of KOL/influencer strategies - from building a segmented KOL database to launching community-driven initiatives like Creators Clubs and incentive programs.
- Develop performance-driven content systems: Collaborate with content and design teams to test memes, video, reels, carousels, and native formats. Align storytelling with platform algorithms, client goals, and audience expectations.
- Lead client communication and manage delivery:
- Act as the key point of contact across accounts. Present strategies, lead calls, set priorities, and manage expectations. Ensure alignment between client vision and marketing execution.
- Drive relationships with influencers and partners:
- Coordinate KOL activations for launches, TGE campaigns, or product updates. Support influencer negotiations, content planning, and community-building efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally:
- Work closely with junior SMM and KOL teammates, creative producers, writers, and external partners to bring high-performing campaigns to life.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in social media or influencer marketing Leadership, with at least 3 years in the Web3 space — agency or in-house. This is non-negotiable.
- Native or fluent English - written and spoken. You will lead client meetings, write briefs, and present strategies in English daily.
- Strong strategic mindset and ownership: You know how to build systems, not just follow tasks.
- Analytical thinking and audience insight: You don’t chase trends blindly - you segment, analyze, and match content to the right audience and format.
- Strong understanding of performance content: Reels, memes, viral formats - and when not to use them.
- Hands-on experience with influencer campaigns: From database management to end-to-end execution.
- Experience managing juniors or freelancers: You can guide, mentor, and delegate where needed.
Nice to Have:
- Experience launching creators clubs, ambassadorship programs, or KOL Rounds events.
- Ability to generate content briefs and guide visual direction.
- Experience with data-driven SMM tooling and analytics dashboards.
