About
It’s truly interesting how big the world is, with 8.2 billion people, yet only 562 million own digital currency. I never saw myself as one of them until I decided to build my first computer in 2015. While researching GPUs after purchasing an AMD R9 390x, I stumbled upon the world of cryptocurrency mining, thanks to the power efficiency of the RX 480. Long story short, I started mining and was quite successful over time, which eventually led me to invest in Dogecoin. I only wish I had known about cryptocurrency back in 2006; I would have spent my time mining BTC instead of working in a call center job. But everything happens for a reason, and history indeed repeats itself.
I moved to Dubai nearly two years ago and secured employment within three days as a crypto-journalist. I found myself learning and writing meaningful content, even comparing PEPE to in-house projects before its meteoric rise. I regret not buying it when the editorial team advised against covering the BTC20 token due to its controversial associations with the far-right movement. Instead, I focused on my work. Eventually, I left that employer for ethical reasons—sometimes, the more you know, the less you want to know. I was invited by a friend to attend a KOL gathering at Dubai Design District, but my current obligations with my employer prevented me from attending.
I never thought I would be attending the Cardano Summit for two years in a row and have the opportunity to attend Binance’s Blockchain Week. CZ’s message about his future plans resonated with me deeply, as I never had the chance to pursue formal education and have always wanted to give back. With so much misinformation on the internet, gaining access to trustworthy information is a challenge, and I would love to help make truth accessible by officially joining the team at Cointelegraph. Due diligence and fact-checking are essential, and I am sure that you will need to do yours to ensure accuracy—similar to what I would do in this role. I love learning, grasp concepts easily, and am an enthusiastic crypto advocate.
My first experience as a journalist was in high school when I wrote for the school newspaper, a copy of which I still have some 20 odd years later. My first language also happens to be English as I was raised in the United States. My teachers always complimented my ability to write and express ideas in a meaningful manner. I do have a story to tell as to why and how I found myself in Pakistan however that if for another time.
