The Coinbase Institutional Research team creates market intelligence for institutional clients, analyzing crypto-relevant themes, building quantitative models on trade data, examining the tokenomics of various protocols, and following important macroeconomic trends. All research publications can be found here. Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range from $153,000 to $180,000 + target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
Responsibilities
- Market Analysis:
- Analyze how crypto-relevant themes impact market behavior.
- Build and maintain quantitative models on trade data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Examine the tokenomics of various blockchain protocols to provide in-depth insights.
- Research and Reporting:
- Conduct thorough research on macroeconomic trends that influence the cryptocurrency market.
- Produce high-quality research reports and publications for institutional clients.
- Present findings and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Data Management:
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to support research initiatives.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance research accuracy and efficiency.
- Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with institutional clients to understand their needs and provide tailored market intelligence.
- Participate in client meetings, webinars, and conferences to share research insights and trends.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
- Continuously improve research methodologies and tools to maintain the highest standards of market intelligence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial research, market analysis, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, and tokenomics.
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis and modeling using tools such as Python, R, or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
