The Job

We are looking for a qualified Head of Event Operations to join our Public Communications team who is experienced in running large scale global events in parallel. We are looking for someone with that can effectively coordinate multiple events including community-driven meetups, company conferences and events, hackathons, and third party conferences sponsored by the company. Extensive project management experience, including managing an events budget is required. Ultimately, we are looking for someone that can lead a team in increasing our event reach in an organized, methodical way that allows for extended brand awareness and industry education.


  • Plan, manage, and lead a team on executing global events, including software training events, community run events, conferences, and corporate events.

  • Define and maintain the team’s strategy and direction, coach and develop team members, provide open communication and recommended discipline and/or termination when appropriate.

  • Build out an events roadmap that extends beyond the traditional conference experience and aligns with the organization’s objectives.

  • Optimize for the performance and effectiveness of the overall team and department function.

  • Work closely with the Digital Content Manager, Creative Director, Brand Manager, Public Relations, and Developer Relations to plan and promote events.

  • Develop and manage the events budget based on marketing initiatives, community reach, and company goals.

  • Collaborate on marketing strategies for community and corporate events.

  • Produce event reports.

  • Manage multiple vendor partners across various disciplines on a global scale to deliver the agreed upon event, guest and hospitality services.


  • Degree in business, marketing, communications, or event relevant field of study.

  • At least 10+ years of relevant event management/marketing experience.

  • Experience leading and successfully executing B2B events and conferences, roundtables and/or forums.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated success in project management.

  • A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility, and proven success delivering measurable event marketing results.

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously when needed.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.

  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less and staying on budget.

  • Creative thinker who keeps up to date with current event and marketing trends.

  • Ability to manage your time, and juggle multiple priorities.

  • Travel required
