The Chainalysis KYT (Know Your Transaction) team is building a suite of compliance products for cryptocurrency businesses and traditional financial institutions. We are looking for a customer facing Data Analyst to analyze customers' blockchain data and deliver actionable insights to compliance teams. This position will be based out of New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blockchain transaction data, with a focus on risky activity
  • Work closely with customers to understand their problems
  • Tell a story about the analysis through data visualization
  • Communicate results to customers, and iterate on the analysis based on their feedback
  • Extract, manipulate, and visualize large amounts of data
  • Work closely with Customer Success & Sales to ensure the customer is getting value from your analysis
  • Work with Product to identify repeatable analyses that can be productized

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years as a data analyst, data scientist, or another data intensive role
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, or another popular data analysis programming language
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Interest in or strong aptitude to learn about technical aspects of cryptocurrency
  • High attention to detail and high standards for quality of work

The Data Operations team at Chainalysis finds the ground truth that links real world entities to blockchain addresses. Team members operate at the cutting edge of blockchain intelligence, deploying all their investigative and problem solving skills to identify rapidly evolving cryptocurrency services and bad actors around the world.

We are looking for a creative and tenacious Cybercrime Analyst to help us increase our understanding of crypto-criminals and build a data pipeline to identify their blockchain activities.

This position will be based out of New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Become immersed in the uses of cryptocurrencies, with a focus on darknet markets, and cryptocurrency-related cyber crimes, such as ransomware and scams
  • Build a data pipeline to gather data on illicit uses of cryptocurrencies from a variety of sources, with a high level of automation and quality assurance
  • Examine and determine best practices for penetrating hard-to-access services
  • Develop strategies to gather ground truth data that links real world darknet and illicit entities to blockchain addresses
  • Balance and effectively prioritize multiple projects and ongoing initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with Analytics, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure seamless data access across teams

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in cybercrime, ideally with a focus on cryptocurrencies or dark web investigations
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrencies, particularly different types of transactions and different ways they can be stored
  • Have a high attention to detail and high standards for the quality of data
  • Be motivated to keep crime out of cryptocurrencies, and excited about the scale of this challenge

Our Data Operations team is hiring a Data Operations Analyst to help us acquire and leverage the most crucial part of our business - our data. The Data Operations Analyst is already a cryptocurrency-trading pro with expertise in exchange operations, wallets, and ideally TOR networks and VPN’s.

This position will be based out of our New York office.


Responsibilities

  • Create accounts across exchanges and make varying transactions with cryptocurrency services
  • Investigate hard-to-reach services and recommend ways to transact with them
  • Immerse yourself in the cryptocurrency space, including trends in criminal activity
  • Maintain impeccable documentation related to transactions, changes in services, and other crucial data points
  • Work closely with analytics team to identify patterns and trends in the dataset
  • Assist in developing the DataOps ticketing/workflow system by using consistently and providing feedback to leadership

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ IT or Financial Operations experience
  • Expertise in working with large unstructured datasets and excellent spreadsheet management skills
  • Prior usage of TOR networks, VPNs, and other related technologies
  • Experience using a ticketing/workflow system (e.g. Asana, ZenDesk, FreshDesk, etc.)
  • Familiarity with extracting data from Web API’s
  • Cryptocurrency trading experience a plus!
