"Personal Data" is a new field of innovation related to Human-centric/ Personal Data Management. Catalysed by emerging GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) requirements and the growing challenges associated with cybersecurity, personal data management, e-privacy and digital identity, the IOTA Foundation has developed the basis of a new fast moving activity called "Personal Data". This activity focuses on enabling human-centric innovation across multiple sectors including Smart city, Smart Health, retailers, finance and public sectors, Social impact among others.
Currently, we are looking for a Program Director to lead our business development towards "Personal Data". Our global and decentralised Business Development team is in charge of managing the pipeline of opportunity leads (reference use case pilots and cooperation agreements etc), growing collaborative ecosystems and supporting open innovation initiatives fostering the adoption of the IOTA Tangle. The position reports to the Head of Business Development and hold the responsibility to shape IOTA's Personal Data narrative and lead its business development activity to boost IOTA's position globally.
You will join a market oriented team that has the overall responsibility for market adoption efforts, defines the global go-to-market approach, and identifies, qualifies and initiates strategic partnerships and opportunities within industry verticals and ecosystem arenas. Within this team, the Business Development unit contributes to catalysing awareness in key geographies and industries and developing co-creation ecosystems. Business Development screens and qualifies all new cooperation opportunities with the IOTA Foundation which are then handed over to other units for project implementation or partnership management. We are growing a portfolio of strategic Proof of Concepts and testbed pilots to showcase the feasibility and desirability of IOTA and establish IOTA Foundation as a trustworthy global partner.
As Program Director, you will be play a senior business developer role, screen and anchor leads with regards to personal datarelated leads. This include pitching to prospective partners, facilitating co-creation workshops, representation of IOTA in closed and open settings such as IOTA meetups and events. You take lead in scoping and driving high impact and scalable collaborative initiatives to catalyse market adoption and ecosystem collaboration in a growing number of markets across the world.

For this key and demanding position, a senior role with combined experience from management consulting applied to high tech and business model innovation, exposure to personal data initiatives and stakeholders, and track record in managing multi-stakeholder initiatives across sectors and geographies.
Our team, like our technology, is distributed. For this position, you can choose to work remotely from anywhere in the world, or you can work out of our satellite offices in Berlin (HQ), Tel Aviv, or later this year Oslo, Singapore, Taipei. Large amount of traveling is to be expected.
Engage and communicate with key stakeholders at mid- and top- management Level on topics involving complex digital technology and disruptive business model innovation

, Minimum 10 years of international experience including management consulting, entrepreneurship related to e-privacy/Digital identity/
, Personal Data and management of team/project applied to multi-stakeholder and cross industry working environments.
, Ability to discuss and shape value proposition on the role of DLTs to increase trust and transparency for personal data innovation
, Knowledge and understanding of GDPR and ability to discuss the innovation opportunities created cross sector and cross country by this regulation
, Proven record of innovation activities in the area of trust and transparency with particular focus on user managed and controlled data
, Allowed and ready to travel internationally
, A relevant academic degree (Business, Engineering, Communication or other related fields)
, Experience project management, communication and marketing and/or business development preferred
, Technically capable on e-privacy/digital identity, user managed consent, IoT and DLT to be able to discuss and scope relevant IT and data management as support to business development activities
, Experience in addressing and collaborating with authorities / government officials
, Able to drive processes of public funding for multi-stakeholder and public-private partnerships projects
, Demonstrated skills at convening and facilitating productive interaction between diverse groups of people
