Kraken is looking for a Director of Investor Relations who will be a key member of the finance leadership team. This role will be tasked with building out a world-class investor relations program. As an excellent communicator, this role will be a thought leader in shaping Kraken’s investor messaging and in establishing the financial narrative externally. This is a highly visible role and will partner closely with executive leadership, finance, legal, marketing, communications and other groups across Kraken.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development of a robust investor relations strategy and framework for Kraken
  • Be as spokesperson of Kraken within the investor community and engage with investors and the sell-side
  • Clearly articulate Kraken’s strategy, progress against KPIs, and financial performance to the investor community, thereby providing investors with accurate, useful, and relevant information about Kraken
  • Collect and communicate feedback from the investor community to Kraken’s Leadership and Board
  • Partner with Marketing, Communications, and other teams in the development of all external messaging relating to company strategy, earnings announcements, and any other events
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Strategy to understand & articulate our product strategy, feature enhancements, and technology
  • Own Kraken’s IR calendar, including investor days/roadshows, investor conferences, and one-on-one meetings
  • Prepare and maintain accurate consensus models, valuation analysis, and other materials as needed
  • Lead regular meetings with the investment community to discuss key topics
  • Monitor and report on industry and peer company information and practices by tracking research reports, news, earnings calls and other relevant resources

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investor relations, investment banking, management consulting, equity research
  • Experience interacting with the investment community, including buy- and sell-side analysts, key shareholders, financial media, and potential shareholders
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation, investing, and investment management landscape – particularly within the financial services, fintech, & consumer tech 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investor relations, investment banking, management consulting, equity research
  • Experience interacting with the investment community, including buy- and sell-side analysts, key shareholders, financial media, and potential shareholders
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation, investing, and investment management landscape – particularly within the financial services, fintech, & consumer tech industries.
  • Track record of successfully building teams and processes from the ground up
  • Highly persuasive communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally with numerous constituencies, including senior executives, analysts, and investors
  • Effective networking skills and strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Possess a strong network of investment community relationships, including investors, analysts, rating agencies, and financial media
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to attend investment conferences, investor meetings, and relevant meetings (post-COVID)
  • Experience working at a fast-growing technology company or in the financial services industry
